Terms of Service

TERMS OF SERVICE Last updated: 4 October 2026 These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to every order placed on enhancedplates.co.uk. Please read them carefully before you order. By placing an order you agree to these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, Shipping Policy and Payment Policy, which form part of them. If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. 1. ABOUT US This website is operated by Enhanced Plates UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as Enhanced Plates from London, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). We are a registered number plate supplier with the DVLA Register of Number Plate Suppliers (RNPS 84920). Contact: [email protected] 2. WHO CAN ORDER You must be at least 17 years old and resident in the United Kingdom to order road-legal number plates. Orders are delivered to UK addresses only. 3. OUR PRODUCTS 3.1 Road-legal number plates Our road-legal plates are made to order and manufactured to British Standard BS AU 145e, using the mandatory Charles Wright character font, the correct character height, width, stroke and spacing, and black characters on a white (front) or yellow (rear) reflective background. Each plate carries our supplier name and postcode, and the British Standard mark, as the law requires. Raised-character styles (such as 3D Gel and 4D plates) are made within the BS AU 145e rules for raised characters, which require characters to be a single solid black colour with no shading or patterning. 3.2 Show plates Show plates are made for display use only, such as car shows, private land and off-road events. Show plates may use fonts, spacing, borders or badges that do not meet BS AU 145e. They are NOT road legal and must not be fitted to a vehicle used on public roads. By ordering a show plate you confirm you will not use it on a public road. We accept no responsibility for any fine, MOT failure or other consequence of using a show plate on a public road. 3.3 Accessories We also sell fitting kits and related accessories. Accessories that are not personalised are covered by the standard 14-day cancellation right described in our Returns & Refunds Policy. 3.4 Product images We try to show our products accurately. Images and on-screen previews are for illustration; colours, finishes and depth effects may look slightly different on your screen. Plate previews show the layout, not an exact photographic reproduction. 4. VEHICLE REGISTRATION MARKS AND UK LAW 4.1 Proof of entitlement and identity Under the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 and the Registration Plate Suppliers Regulations 2008, we must see proof that you are entitled to the registration number, and proof of your identity, before we supply a road-legal plate. See our Privacy Policy for the documents we accept and how we protect them. After you place your order we email you a secure verification link. Production of road-legal plates does not start until your documents have been received and approved. If you do not supply valid documents within 30 days of your order, or if your documents do not match the registration number ordered, we will cancel the order and refund you in full. We may refuse any order where we are not satisfied that the documents are genuine or that you are entitled to the registration number. We may report suspected fraud or misuse of a registration number to the DVLA or the police. 4.2 Your responsibility for what goes on the plate You are responsible for making sure the registration number you enter is correct and is the one assigned to your vehicle. Please check every character carefully before you order. We make the plate exactly as ordered and confirmed in your documents; we cannot accept returns for errors in the registration number you entered. It is an offence to display a number plate that is incorrectly spaced, uses a non-standard font, or is otherwise not compliant, and you can be fined up to ÂŁ1,000 and your vehicle can fail its MOT. You must not alter, rearrange or misrepresent the characters of any plate we supply. 4.3 Badges, flags and identifiers On road-legal plates the only national identifiers permitted on the left-hand side are those allowed by DVLA rules: the Union flag, the Cross of St George, the Cross of St Andrew (Saltire) or the Red Dragon of Wales, with or without the permitted national identifiers (such as UK, GB, ENG, SCO, CYM and the full-word versions). The green flash is permitted only on zero-emission vehicles. Any other badge, flag, logo or border is for show plates only. If you choose a design element that is not permitted for road use, the plate will be supplied as a show plate. You are responsible for confirming that your vehicle qualifies for any identifier you select, including the green flash. 4.4 Northern Ireland, motorcycles and imported vehicles You are responsible for choosing the correct format for your vehicle, including Northern Ireland registrations, motorcycle plate dimensions, and plates for imported vehicles. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering. 4.5 MOT guarantee If a road-legal plate we supplied fails an MOT because it was not manufactured to BS AU 145e, we will replace it free of charge or refund the price of that plate. This guarantee does not cover failures caused by incorrect fitting, damage after delivery, the use of show plates on the road, registration errors entered by you, or optional design elements you chose that are not permitted for road use. 5. PRICES Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and are the total price you pay for the goods. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout before you pay. The final price is calculated by our system when you place your order and confirmed in your order email. If we discover an obvious pricing error on an item you have ordered, we will contact you before making it and give you the choice of confirming the order at the correct price or cancelling for a full refund. 6. HOW THE CONTRACT IS FORMED 6.1 When you place an order you are offering to buy the products. After checkout we send an email acknowledging your order. Our acceptance takes place, and a contract is formed, when we confirm your order by email. 6.2 For road-legal plates, our acceptance is conditional on your documents being approved under Section 4.1. 6.3 We may decline an order, for example where a product is unavailable, documents cannot be verified, we suspect fraud, or there is a pricing error. If we decline an order after you have paid, we will refund you in full. 7. CUSTOM FABRICATION Our number plates are made to your specification: your registration number, chosen style, size, border, badge and other options. Once production has started, we cannot change the plate or cancel the order (see our Returns & Refunds Policy). You may change or cancel an order free of charge before production starts. Production of road-legal plates starts after your documents are approved; please contact us straight away at [email protected] if you need to change or cancel. 8. DELIVERY Delivery options, prices and timeframes are set out in our Shipping Policy. Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to you or to a person you name. Ownership passes to you once we have received full payment. 9. CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS When you place an order, an account is created for you so you can track orders, upload documents and request returns. You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend accounts used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms. 10. YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS AS A CONSUMER Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If they are not, you are entitled to a remedy as explained in our Returns & Refunds Policy. Our Returns & Refunds Policy also explains the 14-day cancellation right and why it does not apply to personalised number plates. 11. WARRANTY In addition to your statutory rights, our number plates carry a 3-year manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing defects such as delamination, peeling characters, cracking under normal use, or loss of reflectivity. The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, incorrect fitting, pressure washing at close range, harsh chemicals, or normal wear and tear. Claims are handled as set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy. 12. OUR LIABILITY 12.1 If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our negligence. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. 12.2 We supply products for domestic and private use. If you use them for commercial or resale purposes, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity. 12.3 We are not liable for fines, penalties or MOT failures caused by the use of show plates on a public road, by incorrect information you supplied, or by modification of the plates after delivery. 12.4 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your statutory rights, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. 13. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as courier disruption, severe weather, supplier failure or industrial action. If such an event affects your order, we will contact you, and you may cancel for a refund of anything you have paid for goods not received. 14. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY All content on this website, including text, images, plate designs, graphics and software, belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse it for commercial purposes without our written permission. If you ask us to add a logo, badge or text to a show plate, you confirm you have the right to use it. We may refuse any design that we believe infringes a third party's trade mark or copyright, or that is offensive. 15. COMPLAINTS If you have a problem, please contact us at [email protected] with your order reference. We aim to reply within 2 working days and to resolve complaints within 14 days. 16. OTHER TERMS 16.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. The Terms in force when you place your order apply to that order. 16.2 If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. 16.3 We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation. We will tell you if this happens, and it will not affect your rights. You may only transfer your rights to another person with our written agreement. 16.4 No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms. 17. GOVERNING LAW These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring proceedings in either the Scottish or English courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can bring proceedings in either the Northern Irish or English courts.
